Welcome to our Year 2 homepage. My name is Mr Scullin and I have the pleasure of teaching your child this academic year. I am an experienced teacher with over 16 years’ experience in the classroom setting. The children are also very fortunate to be supported in the class by Mrs Trude Evans who is a very experienced teaching assistant and has been a teaching member of Our Lady's for many years.
Our aim in Year 2 is to make our children feel happy coming in to school each day: a happy child makes for an excellent learner. We have a busy day in Year 2 and we have put our learning journey for the term in our termly newsletter (attached below). At Our Lady's, we believe the learning journey of each child is a close partnership between home and school, where children get to revisit and embed practices taught in the school day and explored further at home.
I have an ‘open door’ policy and freely welcome a chat with regards to your child’s learning. The best times of the day for this are at the end of the day, after children have been seen off the premises to give you my undivided attention.
