House Captains

At Our Lady’s RC Primary School, our House Captains play a vital role in leading and inspiring our four school houses:

  • St George
  • St David
  • St Andrew
  • St Patrick

Each house reflects our shared Christian heritage and promotes unity, teamwork and belonging within our school family.

Leadership and Representation

House Captains are selected for their positive attitude, integrity and commitment to our school values of being Ready, Respectful and Safe.

In their role, House Captains:

  • Lead and motivate their house teams
  • Represent their house at school events
  • Support whole-school initiatives and competitions
  • Encourage participation and teamwork
  • Model exemplary behaviour and respect

They act as ambassadors for both their house and the wider school community.

Promoting Team Spirit and Belonging

Our house system encourages healthy competition, pride and shared achievement.

House Captains help to:

  • Organise and promote house events
  • Celebrate house successes
  • Encourage inclusion and fair play
  • Support younger pupils within their houses

Through this structure, children develop a strong sense of identity and belonging within our Catholic school family.

Developing Character and Responsibility

Being a House Captain supports pupils to develop:

  • Confidence and public speaking skills
  • Organisation and accountability
  • Leadership and teamwork
  • Moral responsibility and service

House Captains understand that leadership is rooted in kindness, humility and setting a positive example for others.

Our Commitment

We are proud of our House Captains and the leadership they demonstrate. Through our houses of St George, St David, St Andrew and St Patrick, pupils learn that strong leadership is about service, respect and community.
