Mini Vinnies

At Our Lady’s RC Primary School, our Mini Vinnies group helps us live out our Catholic mission to “love our neighbour” through service, compassion and action.

Mini Vinnies is inspired by the work of the St Vincent de Paul Society and encourages children to turn faith into practical support for others.

What is Mini Vinnies?

Mini Vinnies is a pupil-led group that meets regularly to:

  • Reflect on Gospel values
  • Identify needs within our school and wider community
  • Plan acts of service and charity
  • Support others through kindness and action

Members learn that even small actions can make a big difference.

Living Our Faith in Action

Through Mini Vinnies, pupils:

  • Organise and support charity fundraising events
  • Lead initiatives to help those in need
  • Promote kindness and compassion across the school
  • Encourage awareness of social justice issues
  • Support parish and community projects where appropriate

This develops a strong sense of responsibility and moral purpose.

Developing Character and Leadership

Being part of Mini Vinnies helps children grow in:

  • Empathy and compassion
  • Confidence and leadership
  • Teamwork and organisation
  • Understanding of service and vocation

Members act as role models within our school family, demonstrating our values of respect, kindness and care.

Our Commitment

Mini Vinnies plays an important role in developing pupils spiritually, morally and socially. Through reflection and action, children learn that faith is not only something we believe — it is something we live.

We are proud of our Mini Vinnies and the positive impact they have within our school and community.
