Catholic Schools Inspection Report

As a Catholic school within the Archdiocese of Cardiff and Menevia, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School is inspected through the Catholic Schools Inspection (CSI) process. This inspection evaluates how effectively the school lives out its Catholic mission and supports the spiritual development of pupils.

Catholic School Inspections focus on three key areas:

Catholic Life and Mission
Inspectors consider how the school’s mission and Gospel values shape daily life. They look at how the school community lives out its faith through relationships, behaviour, service to others and the promotion of Catholic Social Teaching.

Religious Education
The quality of Religious Education is evaluated, including how well the RE curriculum is taught, how pupils develop their knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith, and how effectively RE contributes to pupils’ spiritual and moral development.

Prayer and Liturgy
Inspectors review how prayer and worship form an integral part of school life, including opportunities for pupils to participate in collective worship, reflection and liturgical celebrations.

These inspections help ensure that Catholic schools continue to develop and strengthen their mission to provide education rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Catholic Schools Inspection is distinct from Ofsted inspection, which evaluates the overall quality of education, leadership, behaviour and safeguarding within the school. The Catholic Schools Inspection focuses specifically on the religious life and mission of the school.
